flat bed swap from C30 to K20?

I have a 78' K20 fleetside longbed. I have the opportunity to buy a c30 flat bed dually from a local tow yard for $300. Not sure yet of the overall condition under the hood, but the sheet metal is good and it has an old school flat bed on it. It has some back fees on it at DMV so I am thinking of just swapping over the flat bed and springs onto my K20. I would swap over the whole rear end, but I just did the rear brakes and dont want to buy 13" drums and shoes. Does anyone see any issue taking the 1 ton springs and bed off and putting them on a 3/4 ton?

I can't remember the spring lengths for sure, but 1 tons are longer. So unless your going to move the rear shackle mounts back, they won't work. I found this out the hard way after converting a 1 ton dually to a 3/4 ton single wheel a while back. The spring perches on the 1ton sit closer to the frame than the 3/4 ton as well, found that out too in this swap. You might be quicker & easier to just add a few more leaves in the 3/4 pack, but it's up to you.

Good to know! Adding leaves to the pack on my current truck was a thought. Wasn't sure what that might cost me though..... Assume its not that expensive?

I've got lots of parts trucks around so it didn't cost me anything for leaves, just bought new u bolts. I added about 3 or 4 extra leaves & it helped a bunch.
