Drum to disc conversion

Howdy,
I've got a '67 GMC c30, and I want to do a front - then eventually a rear drum to disc conversion, so I was planning on grabbing some control arms and spindles from a 74-78 truck but here is my question. If I'm not going to do a lot of hauling like a 1-ton truck was built for, can I use the control arms and spindles from a c20, even a c10 for the conversion? Are the bolt patterns the same, are the parts interchangeable, and is there any downside to this if so - other than losing load potential?
Thanks!
