Re: AC Harness replacement???

The harness is available separately and is basically plug and play. I put a new one in my 70 shortbed a couple of years ago when I restored it. Actually replaced all the harnesses. I'm currently stripping my Blazer to get it ready for body shop and was removing components and AC harness yesterday.

Re: AC Harness replacement???

Guess I am being thick headed over this..... I have a really nice harness out of a heater only truck, the service manual isn't clear but looks like you use the same power feed to the switch in the AC harness and upgrade the fuse in the panel. Guess I will by the ac harness and it will become clearer. The AC Harness( the whole harness honestly) Looks like Larry Moe and Curly supervised Ray Charles rewing it.

Re: AC Harness replacement???

The heater harness has different and fewer plugs than the A/C harness. The A/C harness hooks into the main underdash just like the heater harness, but that is the only simmelarity.
Heater harness: Brown wire from under dash harness slips into a port on the heater motor switch, then goes on to plug into the resister in the ducting, and finaly on to the heater motor under the hood.
A/C harness: Brown wire from under dash harness slips into a port on the heater motor switch, (witch is different than the non A/C switch) then goes on to plug into the resister in the heater core box, then part of the harness splits and goes to the high speed fan relay, while the other group of wires go through the firewall to connect to the blower motor, and A/C pump. Re: AC Harness replacement???

Brown wire gets removed from old heater switch connector, reinstall into the AC harness connector?

Hey JMac, not sure if this will just muddy the waters any more for you or help make it more clear. Here are some pictures of a new unused AC harness #35260 made by American Autowire, its $100. harness on their website. It came in with a project truck that is not going to be built, if you still need to buy one it's yours for $80. shipped. Mel
