Dolphin Gauge retrofit help
Has anyone had any experience with the refitting your dash with Dolphin's 5 inch electronic gauges. If so I would love to see a picture and know what you think of the gauges.

Re: Dolphin Gauge retrofit help
I agree that they are more pricey than dolphin. Anyone have experience with dolphin in the last few years. I know they had a few lighting issued some time ago and wondering if it has been solved

Re: Dolphin Gauge retrofit help
I have used dolphins on 3 different builds. No issues at all. 2 had the dip switches that are a PIA to program due to getting your hand up behind them, but done once never have to do it again. The other was the electronic version and it was very easy to program as long as you have a area where you can drive 1 mile and be able to pull over or stop safely

Are the Omega Kustom electronic or mechanical? They have a good look!

Re: Dolphin Gauge retrofit help
Take the back half of your factory gauges and drill a hole to accommodate the Dolphin gauges. Weld the dolphin gauge brakets to the of the factory gauge back half. Slide the dolphin gauge through the factory trim ring then into the factory back half and tighten. Youll now be able to install the gauges just like factory.

Re: Dolphin Gauge retrofit help
Those look really good! I know that some vendors sell the gauges made so they fit right in the openings but they do not use the brackets already on the back of the dash. Your retro fit is a great idea. Thus far I have not had anyone talk about the reliability of the Dolphin gauges. Does anyone have comment on that?

Re: Dolphin Gauge retrofit help
Thanks!
I had a condensation issue on the accessories gauge. The heat from the bulbs made it condensate. They suggested I drill 2 eighth inch holes in the housing. I haven't gotten around to it yet since I took my truck apart for a rebuild. |
