Off Topic Question. PT cruiser

I'm sure there is a site out there for this question But I don't belong to any of them. So I hope no one is offended that I ask here.

Wife's car.. 2002 PT cruiser. Has some noise when brakeing. I checked the fronts and there ok. I went to check the back set,= drums. I could not for the life of me get them off. My question. Does anyone know if there is a trick to this type?or an I missing something simple? I have taken off my 74 rear drums many times so I'm not totaly stupid.

Any help would be nice!

I don't think they're any different than other drums?
did you remove the little spring nuts they install from the factory that hold the drum on? if not, get a hammer!

It could be a couple of things. First one is simple but often overlooked. Does it have the retainer locks pushed on any of the lug bolts? Most vehicle have a push on retainer on a couple of the lug bolts that hold the drum in place on the assembly line.

Next, and more probobal is the shoes are extended out far enough that they are catching on the drum. If it acts like it wants to start coming off, but won't this may be the problem. Try backing the pads off a bit, and see if this helps...

Thanks Guys. I did take the clips off. I'll have to see if I can back the shoes off. What a PITA.

I don't want to insult you, but make sure the parking brake is off. Not that I have ever made that mistake before, of course! Okay, well maybe once...
