brake question
OK, Vehicle, one ton 4 wheel drum.
The pedal stays on the floor when you depress it. I think I know what it is, but I'm looking for ideas/input. You can reach down and pull it back up by hand, but it'll stay down there all day if you let it. They do stop the truck. Any one? ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Trying to clean up the left over damage from the Dope-Smokin-Old-Man I've been dubbed the Longhorn Freak/Fanatic/Expert, I just hope I can live up to it. FINALLY got the HORNIAC...a '70 one ton Longhorn with a Pontiac 350/350 and lots of 'personality'. Check out The Longhorn Webite. did you try bleeding the system?
i had that, thought it was the peddle return spring... bled the system, (i put synthetic brake fluid in mine)... seemed to be the cure...

thats odd,
the master cylinder itself has return springs inside the casting itself, and then the pedal has its own return spring, hmm wierd,, |

Yeah fast, I'm thinkin master cylinder too.
The brakes work fine whn you hit them, just won't return the pedal. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. power brakes...it does seem kinda hard to depress the pedal, but it is holding it's vacume though. I can unplug the line after shutting it off and get the his.

Mine did the same thing......seemed to hold vacumn,& felt like it worked,but wouldnt release! You might try a shot of lube on all the points(could be the peddle itself is sticky on the pivot)....69 longhorn.
