Re: Pls Help Me Decipher my Service Parts ID sticker
check out this link below. the link is for a 1970, but if your truck is a different year, simply replace the "1970" in the hyperlink with your year. our trucks came with all the "standard equipment" (including engine) listed in this document. all upgrades (optional equipment) were listed on service parts ID sticker (SPID). in other words if the SPID doesn't list a trim level or engine, it was a base model trim with the engine listed in the standard equipment.
EDIT: the engine appears to be L47 which would be a big block 396 or 400 (depending on what year). the year would be in the vin or model number, around the 5th digit: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/Chevyear.html https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

Re: Pls Help Me Decipher my Service Parts ID sticker
Engine description could be 396 or 400. I think 400 from the looks of it. Either way, it's a big block. Big blocks were not available in a 4X4s in 1970. So your truck was originally a 2WD. Your VIN and model number should begin with CE1. Your trim level is Custom. You should have Z62 CUST CONF & CONV EQ(Custom comfort and convince equipped) on the other side of the SPID. Welcome to the board. Nice looking truck you have there.

Re: Pls Help Me Decipher my Service Parts ID sticker
Thank you Bruceman and Bowtie! Yes, my vin says my truck was built a C/20 2wd. Guess that explains a couple badges found in one of the boxes of crap (treasure?) that came with the truck! (also found a 400 badge)
Did Chevy build 4wd Customcamper/20's? |
