Red line out of tn rebuilt the gauges for me and he supplied it. He will make your speedo 120 mph if you want it, mark

Hey Grandpa54, what brand and type of paint did you use on the silver trim bezel? Yours is flatter and closer to the original sheen than mine is. The whole thing looks beautiful, by the way.

I have blasted and repainted mine twice now, using two different types of rattle can aluminum colored enamel, and I'm still not 100% happy with it. I don't mind the extra gloss on mine, but it takes 100 years to cure and seems pretty easy to discolor when handling it.

I decided to do mine myself. Apparently so I could continually obsess about all the minute details other people are never going to notice in the first place. Ha!

Aluminum/silver paint needs a clear coat so that it does not smudge when touched and handled.

Thanks CaptainFab, I hadn't thought about that. I don't wanna hijack this thread, but do you have any idea if clear acrylic enamel can be sprayed over the (presumably) oil enamel I painted it with? The aluminum color was Krylon Rust Tough. The local oreillys didn't have any clear that wasn't acrylic. I'm gonna try a test piece first, but was curious if you or anyone else had any input. I have blasted and painted this damn bezel twice now, and I really don't wanna botch it again.
