.90 442/Silverado
Glad I found this forum . I'm putting a 455 cu in olds in my short wide box Silverado and wondering if any of you have had this project? Frame eng mounts is where I'm at. Any Ideas? Newbie from the cowboy state.

Re: .90 442/Silverado
Well, if the engine mounts on a olds 350 are the same, then maybe get the mounts for a 350 diesel in a 73-87 c10 and see if they can be modded to work? Otherwise I highly doubt anyone has done this, they would just sell the 455 and use a chevy 454 normally.

Re: .90 442/Silverado
there is a guy on gearhead-efi that swapped a 350 Olds into his 94 Silverado, and put the TBI on it. used an engine adapter to hookup the 4L60E too. Can't recall his username but he's on there.

Re: .90 442/Silverado
Thanking you all for your replies. Yes the early chev/GMC trucks had the 350 olds diesel and those are the mounts that would work for me, however, finding these are a b. High scrap metal prices took it's toll on a lot of these (and others) hours on the phone to wrecking yards here and Canada have turned up nothing so far. I can and will fabricate if necessary but was looking for the easy route. Yes I could put a chev motor in easier but whats so special about that? I want my truck to be different than the guy down the street has plus mucho torque. I'm trying to build the truck Oldsmobile should have made, the SS series 454 trucks are close and why I chose this platform to work with, suspension, space, etc. and I like the body style. More on this project as I progress....Trader

Engine mount brackets for a late 70s firebird with olds 403. These adapt an Olds motor to standard chevy insulators (Frame side).
Probably obsolete/impossible to find, but... |
