Re: High optioned C-60?

Here are some pictures that I took the other day. I can get some other ones if you would like. Someone has removed the original condenser and air conditioning compressor unfortunately. They left the brackets for the condenser though. They were lucky employees to have air conditioning! I have been trying to buy a 72 c60 with a 427 and tandem axles that has factory air conditioning, bucket seats, chrome trim, tach dash and air pressure Guage.

Richard

Thanks for the compliment. It is a neat truck and I was excited to get it. It does have the big truck front hubs. I don't know the diameter though.

Re: High optioned C-60?

I would LOVE to find that tilt column. I would have to build a truck around that one part.
When I planned on the 60 dually I wanted I had plans of trying to make a truck[motorhome] tilt work any way? Is it close enough to be made to work?

Is there any possibility of us talking you in to pulling the A/C condenser brackets and sending pictures with measurements? I'd like to recreate them as close as possible for my project. Also some indication of where they are bolted on. I assume that the mounting holes are drilled in all of the core supports, would be good to know which ones.

Where the tow hooks on these bigger trucks the same as the smaller pick up did you notice them when you was parting it out or they like the Kodiak hooks

Re: High optioned C-60?

The tow hooks mounted on top of the frame with a 3 bolt base. I have to see this big truck with factory chrome trim. Or dos it just have the grille, windows, and maybe top paint divider. Also curious if the seats are light duty truck buckets. I know they offered Bostrom seats that you could call bucket seats.

Re: High optioned C-60?

The bucket seats are the same as the pickup. The chrome trim that I was talking about is around the windshield, vent windows, grill trim and 427 emblems/hood vents. I will try and get some pictures of the condenser brackets and some measurements. I'm currently storing the truck about 30 min from my new place.

I pulled another set of bucket set of bucket seats from a 67 or 68 chevy c60 a few years back. They were the buddy bucket style with no fold down armrest. Very unusual so I had to pull them I will try and see if I can find the pictures of them as well.

Re: High optioned C-60?

I can't find the pictures of the buddy bucket style of buckets. I will have to go to my storage and take some pictures. Here is a c60 truck that I parted that had the utility style buckets. The green gmc c60 was a very nice truck that got crushed before I could pull the chrome grill and chrome tow hooks. It is the only truck that I have ever seen that had chrome tow hooks.

Re: High optioned C-60?

I'd be willing to bet the chrome work was done custom aftermarket by a fancy owner. Cool definitely.

You sure have come across some very unique trucks in your time, 68chevy.

Re: High optioned C-60?

Here are some more trucks that I found with front chrome bumpers and aluminum grill trim. Has anyone else found any highly optioned c40-c60's?

Re: High optioned C-60?

Interesting trucks.

Like the Spoke Wheels.

Notice the truck in the top picture has the Heavier Axle with the Wider Fenders.

Re: High optioned C-60?

Maybe a little off, But there was a 77-up C60 years ago around here that was a super loaded truck. Silverado, Chrome grille, power windows, locks a/c, carpet etc etc. Unfortunately it burned about 10 years ago and there was nothing in the cab left...

Re: High optioned C-60?

Here is something different... 83 GMC. Supposed to be a 76,xxx mile truck.

Something doesn't match up so I asked the guy for pictures of the SPID labels. Maybe I will get them...

That's all factory trim. It was the Custom trim option. You could just get the front end trim separate or as a cab trim option. The big back window was part of that option.
