K/10 rear wheel spacers ?

My stock 69 k/10 has original narrow rear end and steel wheels, thinking about using 1.5 in. Spacers for wider stance and look. I found some aluminum spacers that said not for steel wheels!--hub centric? USA made? Steel? Dealer? Thanks for any input and this site!! Happy trails

Re: K/10 rear wheel spacers ?

Welcome to the board. I would not use that large of a spacer at all. Especially on a already heavy k10 truck. And the fact that they weren't made for use with steel wheels I would stay away. An 1.5 wheel spacer IMO doesn't even sound safe. If it was me I find me two wider wheels.

Thank you ray for on what i suspected. Running 8 in. Steel rims now with inner nubs so i cant use stock hub caps--using smaller ss caps. I like your chevy collection--all bases covered!

I know what you mean though. I have stock wheels on my K10. Front wheels go out to the fender, rears are tucked in slightly. Most 4x4 vehicles seem to follow that scheme though.

Re: K/10 rear wheel spacers ?

I had 1 1/2 inch adapter spacer on my truck to put some c5 vette wheels I had on it. While I never had an issue with them the main reason I bought new wheels was because I never trusted the spacers and steel wheels with poverty caps look way better.

x2. not a good idea at any width of spacer. puts enourmous amounts of the wrong type of stress on the wheel studs under even normal driving conditions.
