Vintage Air vs. LMC

I'm getting ready to order up parts and install A/C in my 66 C10.
I've been looking for a decent system to use and of course Vintage Air comes to mind. Only problem is, I've been struggling to find a kit in stock, and they seem to be priced between $1,400 and $1,500.

Now, LMC on the other hand has a similar kit in stock for $1,299.

My main concern is of the quality of the LMC kit. Is it worth my time and money to find a Vintage Air kit, or is the LMC kit nearly as good and worth the $1,300?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Vintage Air vs. LMC

Contact MCB Matt on these forms. I bought my kit for my 1964 k10 from his company. It cost me $1289 free shipping and no tax!

Yup look in the vendors section. There are a couple of folks selling them and you will get the best support and price from them. They also have the knowledge to get you the right stuff the first time that you cant always get from LMC.

Re: Vintage Air vs. LMC

I've got the Vintage Air under dash unit in my truck and it works perfectly. If it were me, the money savings wouldn't be worth the risk of buying it anywhere else.
