Re: Lets see your gauge panel!
Yeah man, your powder coated bezel looks great.
If I had realized what a pain in the rear the "easy" route was going to be, I would have just got some real 2 part urethane and shot it like all my other parts, or had my buddy powder coat it. Unfortunately I let logic get in my way again. "It's just a trim bezel, surely a shot of rattle can aluminum should do the trick." It looks really nice in my humble opinion, but now I've already got a spot that needs a touch up, and guess I may as well clear it while I'm at it. |

Re: Lets see your gauge panel!
For future reference, I tested 3 rattle can clears tonight over test pieces previously coated in the same Krylon aluminum color I used on my bezel, and none of them are acceptable. Duplicolor acrylic enamel clear, Rustoleum crystal clear enamel, and Krylon crystal clear all three turn the metallic silver to dull, splotchy gunmetal gray that looks terrible. Maybe this will help somebody in the future.
I'll stop cluttering up this thread with extraneous info and questions now. Thanks for putting up with me fellas. |

Re: Lets see your gauge panel!
I ended up going the Dakota Digital route...full electronic with programmable settings for tach, speedo and fuel sender ohms...
Fit right in and works great...turned out to be about $300 dollars cheaper than purchasing all the gauges seperately and there are ton of cool expansion options.
