1970 Chevy C10 shortbed

I recently began the project of restoring my fathers 1970 C10. I'm pulling the inline 6 original engine this weekend. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

First welcome to the forum from West Texas , just undo all the wires connected to the motor , trans bolts x 6 , put a jack under the trans to hold it up while you pull the motor , battery cables ,all water hoses , motor mounts , exhaust pipe . pull the radiator ,pull the hood off . disconnect the gas pedal rod. clutch rods on the driver side if it has a clutch. get your host or cherry picker and chain to the motor front and back and try and keep it fairly level , pull it to the front and up as you go . try and get a friend to help, makes it a lot easier......Good Luck ...Don

Welcome to the board. What are the plans for your fathers truck?

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 shortbed

Welcome to the forum! My truck started out as a six, but no longer. Check out my build thread and others and I'm sure you'll get some great ideas.

Howdy from East Texas!
If your memory is anything like mine, I suggest;
1- take a ton of before and during pics.
2- make note or mark things like motor mount, hood hinge position
3- painters tape and sharpie to label EVERY wire etc.
4- small boxes or ziplock bags to separate and label EVERY bolt, bracket etc.
5- take your time!
6- if your not sure about anything, post it here. Plenty of good folks here that are more than willing to help! Good luck!

And keep your hands clear of pinch zones. Man that hurts bad! Don't trust your hoist more than you should either.
