906 vortec heads off boat motor

Well buddy didnt winterize his boat and cracked the block so i am installing a crate
Motor and will be keeping the heads. The are the 906 casting number..
Am i right thinking these are the same as what would come off the suburbans
96 and up and are decent heads? I will post pic soon

Ive been told boat and truck heads are the same. I have some 059 Vortecs off a boat, it has stainless exhaust valves to help cope with the wet exhaust.

You will need a different intake and valve covers and bolts for both.

I thought do too, i built a 383 for my old camaro aith 906 heads ran great have a extra block in garage may build another for my c10

906 heads are for 96-2000 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. They have heavy duty valves and hardened valve seat inserts. I have them on my motor in my 1/2 ton c10 and they work great.
They are vortec heads and you need a vortec style intake for them.

Those heads are worth 40 hp AT LEAST over any other production head. They flow great don't take my word for it look at any rag printed in the late 90's early 00's. Well any except maybe Mustang monthly. They will help build a good bit of power. I have a RPM air gap on my small block with Vortec heads. It made the regular cab S-10 move.
