Under-Hood Fuses
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to get to the two fuses that make the ammeter work? I found some weird looking connectors up by the radiator support. I'm not even sure that they are the fuse holders. I tried twisting them and pulling on them but they don't want to cooperate, and I don't want to break them or pull the wires apart. So, I didn't get too rough with them. Thanks, T |

They should come apart. Mine were so corroded, I replaced them with new ones from the parts store. Easy to find at any parts store.

mine were tough to get part as well ... once mine finally broke free they made a loud "POP" of vacuum .... maybe alittle oil might help loosin' them up .... they hold 4 amp fuses in case you didnt already know

After I got my first one apart, it was pretty ugly looking inside. I just cut both of them out and replaced them with new fuse holders. In fact, I recommend doing that because then you will have the same length fuses as you do for everything else. The fuse holders for the ammeter are the really short ones.

I used a pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze the middle to break the fuse.Once the fuse was broke,it came apart and then I could dig the ends out.a little electical grease to put it back together.
