Window felt

So I finally picked up a complete window felt kit (anti rattle strips, glass run channel, and division bar felt) I've never done this on these trucks. I'm not doing the vent window yet, my question is will I have to remove the vent window to put the other above mentioned pieces in? has anyone installed one of these kits before? any warnings?
Thanks!

I did my drivers door today. Yes you will have to remove the vent window.
On installing the divider bar seal there is (2) rivets on the lower end and the screw on the top I cut holes in the seal to let them come through so the seal would lay flat in the channel and I glue the seal to the channel.
The outer window seal installed easy I glued it to.
Installing the anti-rattle strips I had to bend the door window flange out so the lower window channel could pass through.

Doing mine was a PITA because of the electric window

One more thing I had to remove the the lower channel on the window to get the window through the anti-rattle strips just to tight.

Re: Window felt

66Farmer - Did you remove the main glass to install the anti-rattle strips? If you didn't, would you recommend doing so or is the window down far enough that it's not in the way? Sorry if I'm high jacking this thread.

Re: Window felt

Thanks so much for the reply, and the pics

Hi Jack away that was my next question lol

Did you take the whole window glass out for the rattle strips or just sneak them in?

how hard was it to pull the vent window?
Sorry so many questions
thanks

Re: Window felt

The window glass fits tight between the channel. This is how I would do it.
1) pull the vent window assembly out
2) slide the window glass off of the regulator and I would let it set in the bottom of the door
3)remove the old window channel and sweeps
4) I would put the sweeps in first as they fit behind the window channel
5) put in the new window channel
6) reinstall the window onto the regulator
7) install the new window channel on the vent window and reinstall it
8) option while it's all apart you could pull the window regulator and clean them up , clean out the inside bottom of the doors.

Re: Window felt

Hi 66farmer

Where did you get the felts that run along the bottom of the window and did you have any trouble with them?
