Original Bucket Seat & Jack Question

You guys ( like First Owner ) that have trucks with original buckets with carpet up the back behind the seats. Okay my question is, is the jack and jack handles stored in the passenger side corner of your truck like it is with bench seat truck? If possible I'd like to see a pic of how the jack & handles are stored on an original buckets/console truck.

Re: Original Bucket Seat & Jack Question

My truck has factory buckets. Jack was gone but the same spring deal was there with the original carpet behind the seat covering that area. I'm assuming the jack was originally stored the same way as a bench seat truck.

Re: Original Bucket Seat & Jack Question

My 68 with the buddy buckets has the jack stuff in the passenger rear corner.
I've never taken a picture of it.

Re: Original Bucket Seat & Jack Question

My 69 has everything in the corner the same as bench seat trucks. I don't recall that the foam bag was there when the truck was new. I always wrapped the short tools in a heavy rag to keep them from rattling around in the cab corner. I found a bag in the junkyard a few years ago, but I don't use it because it looks crappy there. The gas tank carpet is made to conform to the corner. In other words, the jack and tools are not hidden by the carpet.

Jim

EDIT: Added picture that shows the carpeted area beside the seat. I don't have a shot looking into the corner. At least it shows how the carpet is formed into the corner. If desired, I can try to get one in a couple days.

Re: Original Bucket Seat & Jack Question

Thanks for the pic Jim.. This was just thought I had because i am removing the cab tank and going with a rear mount tank and also putting in factory buckets and console. i plan on getting the cab rear carpeted like factory and wondered if the jack and tools were covered up.

On a related note I believe the jack instructions decal is affixed to the bottom of the console (w your positraction warning decal).

I don't remember there ever being a jack decal anyplace in my truck. I read on here there should have been one on the bottom of the console. So, now there is. Never had to worry about one for positraction.
