Push button start?

I have a push button on my dash in my 62 C-10. Would this be a factory push button start? I didn't think push button starting was still available in 62. This may have been a PO add-on.

Re: Push button start?

62 is like 50 years to early for push button start hehe. Actually....I'm pretty sure the new trucks actually had a recall on the push start. Go figure lol.

Actually you have it the other way around. Cars were push button start before they were keyed. Model T's were push button with no key. Many cars up to the 50's were push button start: you would turn the key on, push the pedal to the floor (where the switch was) and the car would start.
