20 wheel tire size
I have an 87 R10 lowered 2 in the front with CPP spindles, rear will be lowered 4 with shackles and hangers. I have settled on MB Old School wheels 8.5 w/ 5 backspace all the way around.
My question is can I run a 30 tall tire, 255/50R20, without rubbing issues? I have done the measurements with a piece of wood and all thread bolted to the hub and everything looks like it will clear, I wanted to see if anyone has firsthand experience with a similar setup. Thanks, John |

Re: 20 wheel tire size
I had the same wheels up front with spindles and springs for a 5" drop with a 245/40/20. Only rubbing problems I had were with deep "dips" in the road at anything over about 30mph. The tires would rub the top of the fender well on the driver side. I'm sure new front springs would have helped out some.
