1954 speaker ideas
Mocking up my cab and need ideas on where to put my speakers. Kick panels would be good but my left side is occupied by e-brake and cup holder. Rear cab corners are occupied by retracting 3-point seatbelt. The original spot has room for 1 5x7 which is fine I guess. I'm not going to run a bangin system. No amp no sub just a basic system for radio. Any ideas how to mount a 5x7 speakers in original spot? Or any better ideas. It would be nice to run 2 speakers. Mounted controller in glove box.

Re: 1954 speaker ideas
With all the different sizes of speakers and speaker boxes I'd think that you would have and easy time of it. It just depends on how much of a sound system you want and how many speakers you want. Combo speaker behind the speaker grill, Mids mounted high on the kick panels and maybe a couple of small tweeters up in the corners of the headliner. Then your rear speakers in the cab corners with a sub somewhere.
On mine next time around I don't want one speaker in a position where you can see it from outside the truck unless it is behind a speaker grill in the dash.

Re: 1954 speaker ideas
I've got 2 -5" round speakers and a stock radio in my 81..its plenty loud and clear..even with my exhaust dumping in front of the axle..I stuck em behind the seat..the small size makes them easier to put in tight spots..

I have a pretty good sound system in mine. Deck, Sub and amp under the seat. 6 x 9's behind the seat and a couple 4" round speakers in the stock location. Nothing is seen when you look through the window.
