67-72 C50/60 Detroit Diesel 453's cab size?
I'm curious if the 67-72 cabs are different for the C50's/C60's gas engines versus the diesel (specifically the Detroit Diesel)?
Didn't the 366/427 gas engines have a 30.5 in length, 28 in width, 29 in height? And, the DD 453 had a 39 in length, 30 in width, and 39 in height? The diesel would be about 9 inches longer, and 10 inches taller if the above measurements are correct. |

I am guessing the space in the engine bay is the same for the DD 453, but was hoping someone might offer up any insight.

I'm sure the "Cabs" themselves are the same, but what "could" be different is the Firewall. In general, like the 7500 to 9500 style Cabs for example, some have Dog Houses and some do not.

Just a guess on my part but I would think they were the same since the 453 should not be any longer then a 292 6 cyl., but again that's just an assumption on my part and we all know what that gets us lol

Yea, I am thinking the cabs are the same with the possibility the firewall might be different.
Three months ago I saw a diesel C60 listed on craigslist in the middle of Kansas somewhere. I wished I had called the seller - could have asked. I'll keep searching to see if another is for sale someday. I think it would be pretty cool to own either a C50 or C60 with a 453 in it. |

I always particularly liked the 4-53.
