ECE Hidden Hitch on 4WD

Has anyone mounted an ECE Hidden Hitch onto a 4WD truck? The leaf spring mounting bracket has a support on it that bolts to the bottom of the frame and to the side of the leaf bracket. I could cut out some of the hitch but I don't like the idea of reducing the number of bolts on the hitch. I could remove the support but I assume the support is there for a reason. Or I can make a new support bracket. Are there any other solutions that don't require bracket fabrication and don't decrease the integritty of the hitch or the spring mount?
