Bolts for the rear bed, length, quantity, and thread?
My bed will be here in a few weeks from the USA and I don't think it'll come with the bolts to secure it to the frame.
Can someone let me know what thread and length I need please? And how many? Thanks. |

Re: Bolts for the rear bed, length, quantity, and thread?
Hi There, You never specified if your truck has a 6' Bed, or 8 '? I am in the process of restoring a 82' GMC 1/2 Ton with an 8' Bed, and happen to have the bed off at this time. My truck has (8) bolts holding the box down. The bolts are "carriage" style. (rounded head with a square shank just below head) All of the bolts are 1/2" NC 13 TPI. (6) are 4 1/4" long, and (2) are 10 1/2" .

Re: Bolts for the rear bed, length, quantity, and thread?
Excellent many thanks.
Mine is an 8 foot bed too. By looking at the chassis rails I'm guessing there are no captive nuts welded to the rails, so the bed is simply held with a nut and bolt, hence the square shank? Thanks for the details. |

Betting it is a fleetside. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=27
But bolts should be available to him locally cheaper.
