Only real frustration comes from the people without even a little bit of courtsey, returning a call or an email shouldn't be that hard, they found time to list it for sale, could at least find time to say its gone...maybe I am asking too much?

But, on a positive note, I have a solid lead on a parts rig and two frames. Should have this issue wrapped-up by middle of next week at the latest.

My 93 frame has 2 inch lowering spindles. If you were still after a more stosk ride it would work well. I have 8 inch rims on the front with -1 offset. 8s on the rear with 0 offset. the tires dont stick out past the fenders. The axle with is only 2 inches wider then stock

Just got off the phone with a fellow who has a 5 window, short bed parts rig that I will be picking up this week.

So, going to stick with the stock frame for this one, but then that leaves me with two, leftover, 5 window cabs....ooohhhh the possibilities, as I still have a complete S-10 parts truck sitting out back!!!!!

WEEELLLLLL...if you are keeping score, it is actually 2 1/2 of the AD series trucks:

The nice, mostly rust-free California/Eastern Washington 3600 3-window with the butchered frame,

The above pictured 3100 5-window parts truck picked-up today with the unmolested, stock frame.

And the 5-window cab/front end (no frame) parts collection....in my defense, I shouldn't have to count this one as it didn't have a frame, wheels you know, all that "Car Stuff." BUT, you can bet my bride does...

Little update, found a 250 in-line 6, bored .040 over, yesterday on craigslist for $50.00, sum assembly required...

Have to check numbers to see what year, but figured at that price, even if it is toast, it beats a core charge if I need a replacement.

Block casting number: 366855, Looks like a 1966-84 Chevy, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac 250 c.i.d.

Head casting number: 3824437, Looks like a 235 head.

Having a hard time finding date code info on the in-lines, lots of stuff found for V-8's.

I believe these are the date codes:
Block: A 8 6
Head: F 6 4

Any idea on when these were cast?

Equipment auction yesterday, bringing home car trailer today. No more renting UHaul trailers to bring cool, old trucks home, and that means more money left over to spend on bringing more cool, old trucks home...EPIC WIN!!!

Thanks, been away from the truck for awhile, and probably for a bit longer as well. Been working on the shop area, reaarranging and a little remodeling that has been long put off.

Hoping that the electrical gets done in the next couple weeks, currently, outside of the tack room, there is only one working outlet to serve the barn and both shop areas, been inconvienant to say the least.

When it is finished, there will be two 240v outlets dedicated to an arc welder and much bigger compressor. Also getting standard outlets positioned so as to all but eliminate the need for an extension cord, really looking forward to that!!! Oh, and lighting, adequate lighting...won't know what to do if I can see what I am doing!

In the end, I will have two, separated by a wall, work areas, one for mechanical, ie: oily and greasy projects, and another for woodworking. Saw dust and engines blend about as well as grease and wood.

But, it will be pretty awesome to have an area dedicated just to what I am going and not have to move things around just to use a saw or work on a fender.

When I get back on the truck, I will post updates and probably have lots of questions as well!!

Time for a quick update:

Got rid of the S-10 & the 250 6-cylinder. Found homes for them to fellows that needed them more than me.

The donor frame truck ended up having a crack in the rear frame rail over the axel.

Got the bed pulled off last night, get the cab removed by the weekend hopefully, then see if there are any more hidden surprises on the frame.

If the rest is solid, then next thing will be repair/box the cracked area and box the other side as well.

Productive weekend, met my goals I had hoped for.

Bed and cab pulled off the frame, now to take a little time to strip down the cab of the few things left that are/might be savable, then onto the scrap yard with it...

Then strip the frame so I can get it off to be blasted, found a place just a few minutes away in Olympia that says about a two hour labor charge if I bring them in a stripped frame for $200.00.

Did some research, and even if it takes them 3 - 4 hours, I can't rent the equipment and buy the material to do it myself for that.

Had some much appreciated help today as my buddy who was going to help had to cut his weekend short, so my bride jumped on the tractor and helped take care of business.

Continuing on with the weekend's productivity, the first load is almost ready to haul to the scrap yard.

Frame from the 1950 which was just horribly butchered by a previous owner's attempt at grafting a 3/4 ton front clip reduced to three chunks of scrap.

Two loads today and the last one when they open on Tues and all the extra parts will be gone.

Price of steel is so low, they wouldn't offer any cash, just let me drop it off to get it gone...

UPDATE TIME!!

Thanks to everyone who commented or made sugguestions and offered tips, it was very much appreciated!!

But the truck has moved on to someone who wanted it way more than I paid for it, so it was the right time to let it go.

This has been one of the most helpful bunch of folks I have ever seen on the forum community, a great resource of information and knowledgeable and helpful people!!

No other other current project in the works or planned for the near future so will end by saying "Thank you" and hope you are enjoying the holiday weekend and your projects turn out better than you had hoped.
