06 silverado

I have an 06 silverado that has the factory towing package. right behind the 7 pin trailer connector in the same harness as all the wiring for the trailer is one wire that has a separate plug end on it but it isnt connected to anything it just has a cap on it. What the heck is the wire for?

Re: 06 silverado

My 06 with trailer package has the same wire you are talking about. It is Lt blue - funny connector w/cap --which is the third brake light according to

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/76-.../368979?page=1.

Is your wire light blue also? I have not tested it to see if it has voltage only when brake is applied. Let me know.
