Fuel Gauge Problem
I have a 1970 Chevy C10. I took the fuel tank out to clean and flush old fuel out. Put tank back together put about 5 gallons of fresh fuel in and now my gauge is not working. It was working prior to taking it out. Any ideas out there on what to look for? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Fuel Gauge Problem
look on your fuse panel on one end or the other is a tan wire going to a terminal marked fuel. Pull that wire off and watch the gauge with the key on . it should go way past full.
If it does then you have accidentally grounded the fuel tank sending unit wire between the tank and the fuse panel. If you can scrounge up a six foot piece of wire you can bypass the wire on the sending unit and watch for the gauge to work. You'll have to plug it into the fuel terminal on the fuse panel.

Re: Fuel Gauge Problem
Hey vette vet, that looks like an A10. I worked on them back in the late 70s, at Myrtle Beach AFB

Correct: We got ours from Alaska in 1990 and I crewed this one until 2004 when I retired. Then they moved over to Selfridge in Detroit where they still are. I was with mine in Sicily during Kosovo and in Iraq, during Deny Flight and again in the 2003 war in Iraq. Some of the guys from Myrtle Beach moved here to Battle Creek Mi after the MB closure.\ Awesome airplane.
