Are Radiators marked w/#'s

Does anybody know if these radiators OEM"s for our 67-72's or the ones that show up in our trucks that are actually 73+ that PO's have installed have any #/markings. mine is stamped with these #'s 000401, any ideas.

Re: Are Radiators marked w/#'s

Can you post a pic?

The radiator up assembly consists of the LH and RH end tanks plus the heat exchanger core. Each of these has its own detail part number (typical six or eight digit number) which can be identified with a small stamped metal tag. The up assembly has its own part number as well, and can be identified with either a metal tag or an ink stamp (painted code).

The number you are describing looks more like a build sequence number, which would not be stamped but would be hand written with a tire marker crayon.

The #'s are on right side top of heat exchanger stamped into the metal, no tags at all anywhere that I see. here is some pics.

Re: Are Radiators marked w/#'s

Well - that's definitely not a vehicle plant assembly number, and it doesn't appear to be a GM part number for the core.

Might be a manufacturer part number or, perhaps more likely, a date code or lot information.
