I am wanting 3/4 ton driveshafts for my '72 LWB with '75 3/4 ton axles. Because I have an 8" lift on it they will have to be lengthened but I want something used so it will be a bit cheaper than buying all new ones.

Does anyone know what year of driveshafts I can be searching for? 67-75, older, newer, anything?

You could always take an origanal 3/4 ton driveshaft and have it lenghtend! There are shops around that do that. just a though....

Yeah, that's what I was thinking to do. I don't have the original shafts so I was going to start looking for what years I can rob them from. Still a bit costly to lengthen but I knew I'd have to pay more the higher I went.

What length do you need? I have one for sale thats 67.5 eye to eye...

That's a good question. I haven't measured the 1/2 ton one I have nor how long of a new one I will need.

Is yours 3/4 ton and for a 4x4 so that it can slide up and down to allow for articulation? What year did it come from? Maybe I should take a few minutes later and measure, lol.

When I lifted my '74 (in signature) I used a rear shaft out of a '72 3/4 ton with an Eaton rear axle since it was longer than the original '74 shaft.

Any year of Suburban, extended cab or crew cab Chevy. The 73-88 Chevy 4x4 had a long drive shaft.

(thanks Burnsman!) 71 SWB Stepside, was a 250, now is a 402 Big Block with 4 speed and 3.73's ( was crushed by a tree, bed sold, motor pulled) was my first truck!... oh well... 72 LWB 4x4 350 4-speed 3.08's posi wearing army olive drab green (SOLD!) 68 BURB 50TH LOOKALIKE work in progress, soon to have 250-I6 with a 3-speed on the tree 4.11's and posi ( currently sitting in back yard tarped awaiting time, $$$, and lots of love!) 67 1 TON- work truck 396 sm 420 4-speed, flat bed 4.57 gears "big red" (my first landscape truck, very rusty and crusty! but still gets the job done when needed!)
