So put my mind at ease please....am I correct in assuming that the 72 Pontiac 400 motor mount setup is totally different from a 72 Chevy 350 or 400 setup??

So what I currently have in place is this style of motor mount that was welded onto a chunk of C channel steel which was welded onto the frame. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aa...4K7BoC79zw_wcB The engine side of things uses this style of 3 bolt mount. The center bolt on mine sits out further away from the engine on a kind of shoulder...in other words, all three aren't sitting in a flat plane. http://www.cartechbooks.com/media/wy.../SA200_4-4.jpg I'm not sure if they make a conversion kit or not. I checked out both website links you sent and they don't appear to have anything that will work. I guess I could maybe use something that didn't require that center mounting point to be utilized....like in the picture of this small block engine stand. It is using only the front and rear mounting points and skirts underneath the center point. http://image.hotrod.com/f/41697962+w...-400-block.jpg Last edited by reed62; 06-07-2016 at 10:44 AM. Re: Pontiac 400 and Chevy 350 mounts
Take a look at this post I would use the original 72 mounts and build brackets off the frame to fit somewhat like was done for this Buick engine http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=703223
Here is the 72 Pontiac mount (drivers side) with pics https://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p...243_0513157797 |

My main thought was to install or fabricate something that looked more professional or "factory-like" rather than a couple chunks of channel steel. |

Or, you can run the 1967-81 Firebird block mount if you're using the single-bolt OE type pedestal frame mount. There are poly and rubber types that generally look like this:
