Where is this hose supposed to go?

See red arrow in pic. It comes from a canister up near the core support. I can't find anywhere it should go. it's just hanging around the firewall open to the air right now.

Re: Where is this hose supposed to go?

I would check the emissions drawing. It likely is one of the gas vapor canister lines. The canisters were supposed to be replaced as part of regular servicing, but when they went bad lot of them were just disconnected, and the vacuum leak plugged.

Taking a wild guess since you never mentioned what year truck or any other information, but appears it is an 80 and down something or another. I know the newer trucks had a vacuum ball close to the firewall or even attached to the firewall.

That's my guess.

If it comes from the charcoal canister then it must have went to the carb area. You just need to track down an emissions diagram for your truck. It looks like it's a 77 or older. I'll see if mine still has the sticker.

its a 1975 350 auto 2 bbl carb thanks guys, an emissions drawing would be great. I may go to the library today and see if I can pull an emissions drawing on their auto manuals database if one of you don't have it
thanks
