Bell housing won't align

Bell at the crossmember has shifted and now I can't put in my bolts. What do I need to do to fix this? Do I need to undo front motor mounts and life and move entire engine trans?

Yep , just loosen the bolts then you should have enough movement to line it all back up .

You may have to loosen all of it ,these old truck engines require some persuasion to install it's not just going to drop in and fall together it requires a little muscle and elbow grease .

Re: Bell housing won't align

Sounds good. It was all fine until I did the clutch job. Had a buddy help and he didn't put those bolts back in, my fault for not checking. Now my clutch rod snapped (upper). Just trying to get it all lined up and drivable again

Re: Bell housing won't align

You may need too re do the clutch if it shifted that much and the trans shaft bent any of the clutch pressure plate fingers. ? It would probably be easier to drop the trans out and check everything and make sure your not wasting time .? Get it all realigned and then stuff the trans back in .
