gaskets on lenses - how necessary are they

I get that they keep out moisture, but if I'm not driving it every day
and only when it's decent out, how necessary are they?

Probably best to have, keeps even moist air from getting inside. If you don't have a lens gasket. You can lightly coat the surface of the lense where it contacts the light housing w/ RTV silicone. Let it completely set up, then install, this allows you to remove the lens in future...

that's a thought - and cheaper than buying gaskets for everything
