Re: smog tubes
that is a tough call. you will spend some time off the beaten track on that. best to get a parts manual and itemise all the part numbers for the parts you need. then start hunting. try every junk yard in california. dont give up but it will be tough.

Re: smog tubes
mike16,
Thanks for the input. I am sure it is going to be tough to find. I will gather all the part numbers and go from there. I don't find any original trucks at any car show I have attended so, originality is very important to me to preserve this truck. I will keep you posted on the progress. |

Re: smog tubes
There are several threads on this board about the tubes.
Look here: https://www.google.com/search?q=smog...hevytrucks.com It looks like the guy in this thread, removed and saved his, but he has not been on this site in a while: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=650651 |

Re: smog tubes
thanks guys for the input. From your reply I found there is a guy in AR that has removed the smog parts from his dads 69 GMC inline 6 cylinder. I have contacted him and hope he has not discarded the removed parts. The smog tubes are scares as hens teeth.

Re: smog tubes
I been working on this truck since last nov. I have the frame back on the wheels and trying to complete the drive train before starting the body work.I have a sign in my shop that reads"This project is a journey not a destination". I am building a stock 1969 C10 Chevrolet truck using everything stock that come on the truck from 69. I will post pictures of my project.

Re: smog tubes
I retired about two years ago and my wife (of 46 yrs) told me if I didn't find some kind of project she was going to strangle me in my sleep. I am doing all the work myself and don't claim to be a top notch restorer but I'm not stupid either. I am using the web and u tube to get all my information and it has so far been quite a learning experience.I have the motor rebuilt and the frame back on the wheels. I am going to reinstall the motor and drive train before I begin the body work. It's nice to be able to share this with other folks that have the same interest.I will post my project as I proceed.

Re: smog tubes
LOL I know what you mean, my wife loves me to have a project to get me out of her hair, although I am not yet retired she says it is good for me to have something to do.
