Door lock adjustment question
Currently, I have to push hard on the door of my C10 to get it to lock. Like I'm trying to push the truck over. How do I adjust it so I don't have to push so hard?

Re: Door lock adjustment question
I have the same problem I found it was the door seal gaskets keeping pressure on the latch . I don't know how I'm going to fix mine either .

Re: Door lock adjustment question
You replace the latch with a new one.
The star wheel centre shaft gets worn and the wheel kinks off to the side. Your leaning on the door aligns it enough to latch normally. |

Re: Door lock adjustment question
undo the 4 bolts on the latch the cab side but just enough so the are not loose and tap the latch out just a hair re tighten and it should be good .
now if you have old latches on the door side then you need to replace them they get sloppy inside and put back lash on the sprocket and make it so the lock wont work until you take the pressure off by pushing on the door. i went through this last year with my doors and i had to replace the door side and then it was so good i wish i didnt have to mess with it for so long. p.s. there was a post by someone else about this last year when i was looking. |

Re: Door lock adjustment question
I have the same thing going on - I just need new latches, like Geezer said. I'll live with it until I get tired of it, then I'll buy a hundred bucks worth of new latches and be happy. I saw a set of NOS latches going for $400 recently!
