Goodmark Fenders

I hope I did not screw up. Just purchased a pair of Goodmark fenders for my 86 Wrangler 4X4. Anyone know about the fit of these? No originals around here worth using.

If so you might want to hit a jeep forum.

Re: Goodmark Fenders

LOL Wrangler is a Canadian model of Chevrolet truck sold in the eighties. I guess this model was not available in the States. It was a "mid grade" model between a Custom Deluxe and Silverado.

Re: Goodmark Fenders

I was confused too....I was just on Wrangler Forum before I jumped on here and had to check to see if I was on the right page.

I am curious too how the Goodmark fenders are. Post up when you get them on.

Re: Goodmark Fenders

I had a feeling there was a crazy option on these trucks, but had too ask. I'm not sure on the good mark stuff but id just find clean excellent used fenders if needed.

Says the guy from down south. Once you get above the Mason Dixon line there is no such thing as rust free 30 year old parts.

Andrew's in Eldred had some nice southern parts a few years ago for my 79 Ford.

Re: Goodmark Fenders

If there is a way you could return those fenders and hold out for a southern set, it would be well worth it. Those repop's don't always have the fit we expect from a new fender. The body lines at the door leading edge and hood edge are a challenge on some or most. IN fact if you where closer I have a new Left frt. I would give you. But Florida is a long ways away. But used fender down here are plenty full, and rust free.

Re: Goodmark Fenders

Goodmark is one of the better if not the best aftermarket body parts company's out there, they may not fit perfect but better than most and its made of much thicker material

That may be true BUT-none of that matters if the upper and lower body lines don't match up-there's not a lot one can about that. For that reason alone Id go for used or NOS over aftermarket. A friend of mine who is a dealer for AMD adheres to either go ALL aftermarket or ALL stock but not to mix them together. Factory doors rarely match up to aftermarket fenders and vice versa.

Re: Goodmark Fenders

The biggest problem I've seen on aftermarket (unsure if Goodmark) is the curve where the fender meets the rear corners of the hood (near the base of the A-pillar). If the fenders show up and those curves are jacked - I'd return em, it sticks out like a sore thumb and I can't imagine it's easy to correct, it's a very multi-curved area. If the Goodmarks are good there, that's probably as good as you can get aftermarket - then check the body lines. If they can't be aligned, I'd send em back then also and keep hunting.

Wish there was a way to get a couple of these to you.

Re: Goodmark Fenders

Not sure about the fenders, but the chevelle hood I got a few years back was pretty wavy. That being said with a little work it ended up finishing out very nice. I did find a original ss front cap for the next go around.

Re: Goodmark Fenders

I have used a few sets of goodmark fenders..... and all in all they are not bad. Getting rust free "originals" in northern Canada is almost impossible. I do agree the area near the A pillar often needs a little "finessing"
