Re: new gas tank

I've got a 77 Blazer tank for mine. It's a 25 gallon that is 28-3/4 x 28-1/8 x 10 -3/4. There is also a 31 gallon that is 12 and 3/4 deep which puts the bottom pretty low under most AD trucks.
They are set up for the filler to be on the side of the bed or in the fender.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Mr48,

Is the filler neck soldered in the Blazer tank? THinking about that tank as it would leave plenty of room for exhaust on the sides, but do want bed fill. Wondering if the neck could be moved very easily

If I can get to it when I get home I'll get a couple of photos of it. I need to measure it anyhow and see exactly what size it actually is. A guy gave it to me a few years ago with a batch of 77 Blazer parts that he had to get rid of in a hurry because the city was on his case for too much junk laying around. I went over and bought a part from him and before we were done he had loaded my truck full of parts including a front and rear 4x4 axle and new dual exhaust that went on my truck with a bit of extra pipe (the 71 GMC) .

Re: new gas tank

I took a few photos of the tank when I go home.

The hump on top of the tank that has the sending unit and fuel pickup in it is somewhat higher than the actual flat top of the tank. that may cause a problem in how high you can get the bottom of the tank up off the ground or out of sight in some cases.
