Crate 6 cylinder

Do they make a crate 6 cylinder?

do u mean inline 6 like a 250 or 292?..if so i dont think so...if u mean v6 then yes...

They used to sell crate L6s. The 250 is the 4.2 liter and the 292 is the 4.8. Like the V8s, they're made in Mexico.

I wish they sold crate L6's. That new 4.2L Vortec in the Trailblazers and Envoys would be a kick ass engine in a truck. Maybe they will offer it soon. It's only been out for a few years now. As far as normal L6's, I haven't seen any crate engine in any website that sells or lists GM replacement engines. The 4.3L V6 listed above is not a crate engine as in a performance engine. It's a replacement engine for service replacement.

I guess that was a few years back, then. Sorry. I know I'd rather rebuild a '67- '74 core anyway. Better nickel alloy content in that vintage block.

68OrangeSunshine... the 292 crates seem to come and go. Every few years, they start selling tham at the dealer again. And, like you said, they are known as 4.8L inline 6 cylinders.
