Looking for NEW harnesses? I'm looking for vintage basketball memorabilia!

Well guys-I thought I'd throw this out there as an option for people if anybody is interested-when I was in high school I collected vintage (late 60's thru 80's) basketball cards, magazines, etc. and since about 1998 I took a long break from collecting to get on with life, a family, real bills lol and so on.

Well, I got out my Jordan/Bulls collection awhile ago just to sort through it all....then got out my old partial sets, cards, magazines and well, I realized how much I loved collecting this stuff and so I am resuming where I left off. So, if anybody has some old (1992 or older only) basketball stuff they can part with I may be interested. I am 100% fanatical to MJ but I really treasure the older stuff-Julius Erving anything, Maravich, vintage SI magazines, stuff like that. I'm willing to buy outright or can trade for harness stuff-lemme know what you have!!

Wow..... A truck guy can't like anything else?

Gmachinz is a contributing board member (he helps others w/electrical/technical related stuff). How about a little leeway on his request. He's offering an alternative pmt option for wiring related items which might benefit someone. If it doesn't.... no harm, no foul.

Gmachinz.... No NBA stuff in my closet of bones.

General Discussion forum might be a better location.

Lol....some people don't get it-my wife included....at least at first. Starting at the age of 12 until I was about 24 I amassed a serious collection of several varieties. I started with baseball cards, then basketball cards, vintage sports of all 4, spent 3 years going after pre-1970 HOf'ers, then got into 78-88 Gbody NOS parts (that was not cheap either!) then got into 73-up truck NOS parts along the way. I helped run a card shop when I was 17 and worked at MC'Ds while finishing high school. Went to college then kinda got out of collecting. My wife laughed at me when I told her I could sell a few cards and comics when we were looking for a house (down payment) and she wanted a new Blazer at the time....she didn't understand comics and card values until I explained it to her-almost better than a 401K plan lol! But it was always fun and now I am hoping to build my sports/collectibles room downstairs....here's an MJ drawing I still have-I was 16 when I drew it....I went to school for graphic design.

If any of the mods think this thread fits the open discussion category feel free to move it....

Re: Looking for NEW harnesses? I'm looking for vintage basketball memorabilia!

Thank you-when I worked at a card shop I used to illustrate a lot of sports figures for local walk in customers-this was back in 1991-92 so among the athletes I did for people were George Brett, Bo Jackson, Jose Canseco, Mattingly, Clemens, N. Ryan, Payton, Montana, Rice, Sanders, E.Smith, Dr J, Kareem, Magic, Bird and lots of others. My first paying illustration was from my HS drama teacher who wanted an Eric Clapton portrait....after that, I thought I could at least compete with the sports artists I would always see in the malls when I would help with setting up at the weekend baseball card shows. After showing them my work they wouldn't offer to help me break into the field so I sold mine through the card shop I worked at....and mostly for credit towards cards lol!
