Factory Buckets and Gas Tank

I recently got a pair of bucket seats from a 71 and was thinking about putting them in my truck. My question is did the factory bucket seat trucks have anything covering the gas tank above the console?

Yes. Pictures below show the original GM carpet covering the tank. From what others have posted, the repro carpet is not molded and doesn't attach the same way or as high.

Re: Factory Buckets and Gas Tank

If you can go back to the truck you got the buckets from and get the carpet, do so. The rivets and stuff that hold the carpet to the wall are not reproduced. I faked it, but it's not 100%

And if you do have access to the truck they came out of you might also want to take a tracing or measurements of where the factory holes are for the tank carpet.
