4x4 help
Went to a junkyard today that had a rolling 4x4 frame and a 68-72 shortbed bed only on it. The yard also had a complete 4x4 shortbed truck. I have never dealt with 4x4's so how can I tell if they are true 67-72 4x4 frames and not something sombody just put together? Any help would be great.

I know the 73 up frames had sway bars on the front. Is the bed sitting on some sort of blocks or is it on the frame? I have been to many shows and there's only been a handful of guys that have noticed the newer frame.

Check the rear spring pad width. If I'm not mistaken the 67-72 are wider, not because the frame is wider, but because the spring hangers are different.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. |

The front leaf springs should measure 43 1/2 inches eye to eye . check the frame and see if it has been cut just right below the front of the bed . One other place to check if the rear of the frame has been cut . Some guys like to just cut a foot of and move the brackets and leafs a foot towards the front hope it helps . Jose

I will look at the bed to see if it was just sitting on it or not. Does anybody have any pictures of the front end section of waht it should look like?
