Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
How have you guys got the seats back far enough against the cab? and Why does my buddy bucket seats seem to sit straight up and down? Im very crowded in my truck since Ive added these seats. They are beautiful been recovered and all, but I cant hardly stand to ride very long in them due to this. Thanks for any help..

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
the floors are different in the 60-66 than the 67-72, event though mine bolted up no problems they where straight up. I shimmed the front of mine about an inch to inch and half and sets fine. When I reinstall I think I am going to modify the frame to compensate for the difference.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
Yea I have pics just not uploaded to photo bucket yet.. I guess I may need to look into shimming or something as well. I love them except how uncomfortable they are. My old bench seat was wore out and all but atleast it was comfortable. I have a big gap between the back of the seat and the cab probably inches. It also bolted right up into the factory seat holes.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
Here's the only shot I have of mine that gives you an idea. These are '66 GMC buddies so they fit perfectly.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
I had an extra hole on the seats itself where it bolts to the frame that allowed me to move mine back some. mine set fine after shimming the fronts. felt like your where going to slide out of them before. Mine was out of a 67

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
Mister C how were you able to get them against cab like that? Did you just move the entire seat back and drill new holes? Yes mine feel like there dumping me out in the floor.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
No. I simply bolted them into the original holes. My seats were sold as dealer options on the '66 GMC trucks. You can tell because my center section is almost full height, as opposed to the center section on the '67 and later models. I've compared my base to that of the later models and they look the same. The angle must be in the floor contour or the seat mechanisms themselves.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
This pic might help. The top corners of the seats rub on the back corners of the cab. They are the same as MisterC's seats and came factory in my dad 1966 gmc.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
If I remember correctly on my set there was a screw that you adjust sort of where it hinges. When it was reupholstered it got covered up so no pictures.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
Can any of you guys with original seats take some pictures of the seat mounts? And some measurements? In Classic's pic, it appears the front of the risers are taller than the rears.

Mine are out right now while I do the carpet and other upgrades. I'll get some pics with measurements for you tomorrow.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
Yea I believe the front is taller than the rear. I think my seat is originally out of a 67. I wouldnt think it would make it that much different. I know Im gonna have to figure something out because I cant stand to drive it for very long distance. I guess I need to check my frames and see if there are any other different holes to mount actual seat in.

Re: Buddy Bucket owners step inside..
1965 chevy with 68 buddy buckets the back is straight
66 GMC factory buddy buckets seat is laid back and the seat frame is different I changed the steering wheel from a big GM car as they are smaller also you can see the center seat is different between the years
