Can anyone tell me if a 9' foot stake bed will fit a 157" WB C/30 if the frame is cut just past the leaf hangers? Could someone give me the distance from back of cab to the further most rear hanger?

biggest question is where the wheel wells are. Most flatbeds are sold with Cab to axle measurements. 60 and 84 tend to be the common ones. Anything can be made to fit but this will make it easiest. A lot of older trucks had a board cut to match the frame curves so that the bed would sit flush. Works well until the wood shrinks and the ubolts need tightened again.

The overall truck will look out of proportion when you cut it off behind the rear hangers. I have a '65 that has had this done and it just looks odd. I would try to find a longer bed to fit the frame. Just my opinion..

I was thunking it might look kind of funny with a 9 ft bed. I had a 12 ft stake bed on my old 70 GMC long wheel base and it looked good. If I end up getting this old 1 ton I'm looking at I'll either have to shorten the frame or buy a longer bed.
