Rear bags only - mounting solutions

hey guys. I've been trying to figure out the best way of mounting some airbags to my truck, but i'm not really finding what I need. I might be overthinking it, so I figure i'd run it by you guys.

My brother gave me a set of bags for the rear of my truck. For now, all I want to be able to do is adjust rear height.

This is the bag in question. I think these may be from a Topkick or something.

As you can see, i'm dealing with a 6" diameter plate, and about a 9" bag.

I called Pro Performance out of AZ regarding this kit:

Apparently my bags are too big for their brackets.

I was thinking about using aluminum billet and machining the holes I need to mount everything, but it's pretty expensive.

Does anyone have an idea of who makes a bracket kit that may fit this? Any other ideas I might have overlooked? I'm thinking about using wood at this point...(not really...just making a point )

For an air spring that large, you may indeed have to fabricate your own upper/frame mount to ensure that the air fittings and mounting hardware fit and locate properly. You can use the smaller mount as a template. I would also double check clearances around the flutes. I run what is usually a front air spring at the rear and there were a couple of areas that had potential interference - I run a pro street size tire, so I had to be careful of wheel backspacing.

If that bag is from a topkick. Your ride is going to suck unless you carry 3000lbs in the bed.

Re: Rear bags only - mounting solutions

I have rear bags only and bought brackets and bags from AZ Properformance. They mounted right up. I don't have any picts, sorry, but they are working fine so far.

Re: Rear bags only - mounting solutions

yeah, I figured i'd have to make something work. I was hoping someone had used a bag similar to what I have and that maybe there was a bracket kit to fit a bag of these dimensions.

well, time to save up my pennies for material.

thanks guys

Before you make any purchases, double check the dimensions of the air spring to the available space around the frame and trailing arm mounts. It may be too large in diameter - my air spring is 6" in diameter (the widest parts of the flute) and it is close to my tire/wheel.
