bench seat question
What year trucks came with a bench seat that does not fold forward? I recently bought a 1986 K30 for parts and the seat is non-folding. I wanted to use it in my 83 but not if I can't fold it forward, looks like the brackets on each side are not factory. i will get some pics today.

Re: bench seat question
It should fold. it might be because the bolt is not installed. The lower part of the bracket should be bolted to the lower seat bottom. And also the plastic covers are missing that cover the seat bracket.

Re: bench seat question
You have the non fold brackets. The folding brackets have a stop to keep it from falling back. The brackets are part of the backrest seat. I just went through this in my Crew cab. The rear seat was shot but the front was good. I put the front in the rear for now and buckets up front with a console. At some point I will re-upholster the rear and get the folding seat back.
