Future barn find... 66 C20

My dad called me and said I needed to stop by his friends shop because I wouldn't believe what he was doing. The truck is a 66 C20 camper special with factory AC, TH400, and the original 327 with 4bbl. I think it had around 60K miles 22 years ago when it was torn apart to restore. It never got more than some rocker work, cowl drain repair and a 3rd brake light. All that in the first year. Now the guy says he's going to finish it one day but store it till then. I told him to just sell it to me and I'd finish it since at this point, I know it will never see the ground again. To be clear, they are putting the truck up there, not taking it down. It's all there upstairs now, in a pile.

It will never get finished. One day he will pass away and his kids will scrap it. Those old timers or notorious for "one day" excuses. Typically it stems form growing up with nothing and the inability to part with stuff. Its frustrating when you want something and have the passion to complete it, but there are plenty of fish in the sea..

At least its inside, not rotting into the ground.

The guy is probably in his late 60s. Never been married, no kids, no other family. My dad is his closest friend and is actually the one running the forklift. Chances are, I'll be the one taking it back down years from now. I still hated seeing it go up there.

At least he is organized. Make him an offer and get him to throw in a free fan belt.

Talking Re: Future barn find... 66 C20

Well, if you are young enough to outlive him you can talk him into getting that when he passes or you will buy it at a public auction . Oh, i forgot ,,he is going to finish it some day!!!!!!

If it hasn't made any progress in 22 years it won't in the next 22.
