Cragar deluxe wheel

I see a lot of guys say there running a 15x7 with 4" backspace on rear no one seems to have that back spacing available on there sites not even cragar is is available by special order or somewhere else thanks

You will have to "special order" that backspacing. Irony is all of those are made-to-order. I know this because somehow I called Cragar when I ordered mine thru Summit and they transfered me to the actual factory, talked to the order-taker. He said it's not custom backspacing as far as they are concerned but retailers like Summit see it differently. I found out Summit does not stock them...so its purely a cataloging thing. They catalog popular sizes and backspacing, everything else is "special order".

Like Leevon, I somehow got transferred to a Cragar rep when I asked Summit a question regarding trim rings and the Delux 69. It was actually the rep's cellphone and he was at SEMA. Pretty weird. We ended up emailing back and forth since he wanted to see the wheels with trim rings installed. In one of the emails I mentioned that I wished that Cragar made the 6" with more offset to fit my Stude better in the rear and he said they'd make them in any offset possible within the confines of the width. Just had to ask and I could've still ordered from Summit.

wow this is really great news, I always felt the 8s and especially the 10s had just a bit too much negative offset.

AH, the old wheels that used to come with fake wire wheels that had the wire baskets on them in the 80's.
the spec sheet says 4-1/2 or 3-3/4 back spacing is standard. http://www.cragarwheel.com/images/me...agar%20_69.pdf

Upper left shot shows the car with the baskets and the two right side photos show it without them. Wheels came chrome then.

In late 1980 Appliance actually took their wire wheel and offered a truck wheel (sans basket) called the Bandit. They added rivets around the perimeter and painted them black with a red stripe to the rim. I had a set on my 4x4 in 1981.

I missed seeing those Bandit. I just think it is rather interesting that Someone at Cragar dug some old rims out of the back room, powdercoated them satin black and put a new name on them and guys buy them like they were the newest thing out there. Wise move

The ones I had were ones My dad had bought for his 84 Olds Delta 88 that I ended up with and I swapped them to the Merc when I sold the 88 and then the baskets got so rusty I just ran the rims with the centers still spray can painted black.

I didn't want to spend much for the experiment, so I went with used. I think the set I got were from hubcap mike (?). He said they were for a 40-something F*rd. They fit pretty good, but they were a bit shallow since they were made for a 5" wheel. That left a little gap between the inner edge of the ring and the wheel. Not noticeable unless you stuck your head right in there. I was in Oreilly's the other day and the trim rings they stock look like they'd work just fine.

The thing I like about the wheel is that it's inexpensive and offers a lot of options. You can run them plain, with trim rings, spiders, bullet caps or wheel covers. And there are a lot of other push through caps that fit them too. I'm going to run them on my Burb with spinners. Not sure if I'll paint them or run the satin black though.

I love the look of them in satin black, but was thinking of color matching them to my truck with some trim rings.
