Joe....beautiful truck!..and...I get the impression that you aren't about drop it and put in an LS drivetrain...lol.

Again, very nice and the perfect example for the rest of us to track what original looks like and means.

Re: short wide and BONE stock

So the question then would be.....would the value then go up?....or down? with it in that lowered condition.
Anyone want to weigh in?....lol.

I had this conversation at work tonight with another C10 owner, and before I saw this thread. Crazy, right? I think the 2300 mile truck is worth at least as much as one of the nicest Porterbuilt equipped trucks (non-LS). I think n2billets last build was advertised at $55k but may have sold for less. I don't know what Joe paid for this one and I don't know what he wanted for it when it very briefly made an appearance on eBay but I do know this, it's a good thing he's not selling and it's a good thing I couldn't afford it if he was. Because I see it both the benchmark for restorations and as the perfect canvas for frame layer as represented in the PS pic above. I'd go bat-crap crazy if I owned it.

If it's value in it's current state is equal to a Porterbuilt equipped patina truck, hypothetically, what would it's value be as a perfect original paint Porterbuilt equipped truck? As much as say Tootsie?

I better be careful a guy could get shanked for such talk.

FOUND THEM!!! "GM Trucks" was in "Places". I have a "Home" sub-folder and was looking for a front porch picture for another thread and...EUREKA!

I looked but don't have any on this computer. I do have a Hot Wheels Custom 69 Chevy (Red Stepside) converted to external drive with all GM Truck pictures from two 'puters back. I forgot about that. I'll have to look through and see what's there

Re: short wide and BONE stock

Joe, I love looking at pictures of that truck. This may be a dumb question, but how did the hood latch and hood hinges end up with surface rust. Are they finished differently from the rest of the sheetmetal under the hood from the factory?
