Fwiw my understanding is that these stabilizers were not OEM until the 1972 model year (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=560282&page=2). Does your Dana 44 have the bracket to accommodate a stabilizer?

Yes my axle does have the factory welded bracket, and is a true 67-72 axle since axle tubes are 2 3/4". The truck is also a real 71 but I don't know about the month of manufacture.
