Fleetside. If I'm putting the CHEVROLET band across the letters, is there any way to tell the difference? Are they the same?

Thanks. That's what I thought, but someone told me a while back they looked different besides the lettering, and I passed on a good gate as a result. Hmm.

there are differences between early ones and late ones. but thats not an issue with the repro ones.

My GMC has a GMC band across the Chevrolet letters stamped on the tailgate. Had no idea until previous owner (Livrat) told me about it.

Thanks. Not talking about repros. I was really wondering if I found a good oem GMC gate and plan to put the Chevy woodgrain band across it, does it look identical to a Chevy gate?

Mines all OEM, cant tell the difference

dont know any details but I recall reading about it here on this forum. there are slight differences in the contours of the sheet metal between certain years and "later" years. the repro's are more like the later years suposedly.
